If you happen to own an Xbox360 consider yourself lucky. The latest RPG to hit the console is a 2009 hit. Star Ocean: The Last Hope is a futuristic fantasy style RPG that has all the elements of a great game.

The game begins with you, a pilot named Edge Maverick, embarking on your first mission aboard a spaceship. You and the rest of the crew take off to explore a new world when your ship has to make an emergency exit to a nearby planet. After the crash you’re ordered to explore the surrounding area. After you prove yourself worthy you are given your own ship and told to go out and explore new territories, thus begins your new adventure.

Lost Odyssey

When Lost Odyssey hit the Xbox360 this past spring, people either loved it or hated it. In my personal opinion I felt that this was a great RPG to hit the 360, and an overall amazing RPG that can stand up to the Final Fantasy series. This isn’t just another run of the mill game; its 2008’s hottest RPG, even though most people don’t agree. This game has all the elements that make it a hit, gameplay, story, artwork, and combat, all rolled up into one pretty package.

The problem with today’s gamers is they expect way too much. With the way technology is advancing their expectations are set way to high. Everyone is expecting something new to come out and when a classic style of gameplay comes forth, people complain. Only the true gamers can see Lost Odyssey for what is and clap their hands in applause at the makers behind it.
