You see a table, on the table is a loaf of bread, a vial of poison, and a shiny sword.
> put poison on bread
You cannot do that right now
>take table
That item is too heavy for you!
>pick up sword
I don’t understand
>take sword
You take the sword
Any gamer over a certain age will be familiar with the above scenario. The careful choice of verbs and nouns, the frustratingly specific way of answering a simple question, and of course spending the first 10 minutes after booting seeing how the game would react to such commands as “have sex”, “do a poo” and “wet yourself”.
I am of course talking about text-based games. The original staple of systems like the Commodore PET and the ZX Spectrum, these games were demonstrations of where gaming could go, but they did it without the help of fancy 3d graphics or drawn-out cutscenes.

World of Warcraft addiction is a serious issue. Overseas there are actually rehab centers dedicated to this terrible affliction. Many of us have heard of the terrible tragedies of players actually dying due to too many red bulls and three days of hard core grinding. For some of us we are in denial, WoW is only a game that’s it. We forget that we only shower once a week, and all we eat is take out because there is not enough time to cook and get ready for a raid. As a way to help my fellow gamers, I’ve comprised a small list that will help us all face that addiction head on and spend more time in the real world. Some video games will leave you with that soft fuzzy feeling or give you immense satisfaction. A game that you could have played ten years ago will stick out in your mind because of its beautiful story line or memorable game play. A game like FFVII and Metal Gear Solid have been imprinted on many gamer’s minds.
Through out my gaming history there have been quite a few titles that have made an impact. My favorite of all time (and I say mine because some people wouldn’t agree) is FFIX. Many people would groan at this response and probably call me names, but I don’t care, I loved playing it.
So what makes a game memorable? It depends. For some games it’s the storyline, others the unique game play or the overall package is just fantastic. When it comes to deciding what games have been the most memorable, there is no right or wrong answer, it all depends on the person.
Below is a list of the most memorable games.

Bioshock: (Xbox360)
Bioshock: (Xbox360) 1st person shooter, eerie storyline taken place in an underwater utopia, big robots in submarine suits called “Big Daddy’s”, strange little girls that you can kill or save, crazy people running around with chainsaws and party hats, old music that sounds like the 1940’s, intense graphics & detail, interesting lock picking system.

When the Sims 3 hits stores late February gamers will get to experience an entirely new freedom and creativity in the Sims series. Players will be able to customize, have new traits and now be able to walk around freely.
One aspect that has made the Sims such a popular game is the customization. You can create what your sim looks like, choose their clothes or create your own and even build your own dream home. EA has added in an all new create a sim system that will allow players to fully customize their sims. Now instead of choosing just brown hair, you can pick out just the right shade of brown. Eye color can also be fine tuned along with their skin tone and all facial features. In the past you had to choose whether your sim was fat or skinny, now you get more options, your sim can have that hourglass figure they’ve always wanted.

Aspirations have always been a feature that made game play a bit of a challenge, especially if your sims life goal is to have ten or more children. The Sims 3 will introduce short and long term goals. These goals will allow gamers to fulfill their sims life long dreams or provide some instant gratification and rewards.
